Configuring a local DataServer

In a local configuration, all DataServer components—client and server—run on the same machine. (The server component is embedded in the client executable.) This section describes how to configure a local DataServer.

To configure the local DataServer on Windows:

Install ODBC software and any client software required by the data source on the system where your local DataServer resides.
Make sure that you registered the data source with the ODBC driver correctly on the appropriate machine.

Once you have set up your environment, you can build the schema holder for your ODBC data source and connect using the client executable. See the "Creating a schema holder" section for instructions.
